This is a live stream and recording of our Tuesday evening Dhamma class from Cross River Meditation Center in Frenchtown, New Jersey on October 2, 2018. The stream begins every Tuesday at 7:15 PM Eastern US time.
My Tuesday Dhamma talk and our sangha discussion will be the second in a series on the meaning of Jhana - levels of meditative absorption. Tuesday's talk is on the Jambali Sutta. The Jambali Sutta is another sutta on the proper use of meditation - to engage with Shamatha-Vipassana [1] meditation to increase concentration. Jhana means meditative absorption and, though not in a practical sense strictly defined, each of the four levels of meditative absorption, or deepening concentration, can be, and should be mindfully observed.
“Their minds are enraptured with release from ignorance. They do grow confident and steadfast and well-established in the breaching of ignorance. For them, the final cessation of self-identification can be expected.” (Jambali Sutta)

Each Tuesday class will have a twenty-minute Shamatha-Vipassana meditation followed by my Dhamma talk and Sangha discussion and conclude with Metta intentional meditation.
