This is a recording of my Dhamma Talk and Sangha discussion on Samadhi And Jhanas - Concentration And Absorption from Cross River Meditation Center in Frenchtown, New Jersey on October 10, 2017. The Samadhi Sutta shows the proper use of Shamatha-Vipassana meditation practiced within the broader framework of the Eightfold Path. The jhanas are not to be taken as mind states to achieve. The jhanas are simply an explanation of different levels of concentration.
