My Thursday Dhamma talk, streamed live at 7:15 pm Eastern US Time, will be the first of three talks on the meaning of becoming. This talk is on the Loka Sutta. Just post his awakening, the Buddha describes his astonishment upon clearly seeing the condition of a world rooted in ignorance.
“Look at the world: Human beings afflicted with ignorance crave for and cling to becoming. All forms of becoming, anywhere, in any way, are impermanent, stressful, always subject to change.” (Loka Sutta)
